Mudman #6 Review

After a long hiatus, Mud Man is back; but does it still have staying power?

Here is the summary from Image:

When his mud powers go out of control, Owen Craig has no choice but to turn to the mysterious Mister Gull for help.

But just because it’s the only choice doesn’t make it a good one.

Owen has undergone training in order to better control his abilities. under the watchful (and somewhat sadistic) eye of the mysterious Mr. Gull, Owen is slowly but surely gaining control of his abilities. However, he soon starts to question if the life of a superhero is really all comics make it out to be; and if it really is the life for him.

The story still is moving at a steady pace. Owen is still learning about his abilities while still trying to juggle a normal life. Nothing really to note in this issue; nothing really bug or revealing happens so the hiatus hurt it in that regard. There is a pretty decent cliff hanger at the end, and we Owen learns a new ability which was pretty nice to see.

The art is still good and consistent; so there are no complaints in that area. The colors continue to compliment the story; the use of the darky murkier colors which emulate the England skyline are used to nice effect.

While the hiatus did hurt the book some, Mud Man still continues to be a pretty enjoyable read. With a couple humorous moments, and good characters, the story continues to set a nice pace for itself.
