What is going on in this new series, that is very fun?

“What do smutty outgoing messages, missing monster kit parts, and condoms have to do with each other? They’re all pieces of Rob’s jigsaw puzzle life in the second monthly issue of BOB FINGERMAN’s so-real-it-hurts series. Plus, things heat up between Rob and his download (7)new gal pal, May. Tune in!”

Okay, so this new addition to the popular series that occurred along time ago and has come back with a vengeance with Image Comics. So with the happy ending over, our antagonist is dealing with living with his mother and getting with his new lady friend. It’s a fun and exciting look at something that would be considered mundane, however, with a little charm this series makes it fun again, In this particular issue, we see Rob, trying his best to figure out his life. He is dealing with a whole mess of problems that include, what was said in the synopsis. I honestly think that that it works for this kind of book and it totally works for this. It’s a nice change of pace from all the other comic books, where everything is superhero. I mean it really works and it’s a fun comic book.

The writing for this works well, I have to say, it really reminds of the old one. I am kind of sad that the Rob has to keep going through rough things, however, I have to say it does work because that is the point of this comic. The writing, also, works well because of the couple different things that happen during of this issue.

The drawing is fantastic. It adds a depth to the character development and it is fantastic. I really think that it is fun and great.

Overall, I give it a four out of five for this issue.

4/5

Great review but this is the cover to the original #2 run published by Fantagraphics. The new run is published by Image and the cover image can be found on their website. Would be great if the image was updated!
