Judge Dredd: Anderson, Psi-Division #3 Review

Judge Anderson is feeling the pressure of being a newbie in this newest issue. Is it worth checking out? Read on to find out more.

In an all-new adventure from Cassandra Anderson’s early days in Psi-Division, writer Matt Smith and artist Carl Critchlow present “King of the Six Sectors.” The theft of Cursed Earth artifacts has led Anderson deep into the swamplands near Texas City, where she grapples with mutant creatures and a heart of darkness… Plus, Judge Dredd!

Judge Anderson has always been a favorite character of mine because her arc has always been an interesting one. She can really fill JD_PSI03-cvr-659x1000whatever she needs to do and can be, both, human and strong. It is really fantastic. This series that has brought to life the ideas behind Judge Anderson and a little bit of her early relationship with Judge Dredd. However, what is nice is that she doesn’t rely on Judge Dredd. It is nice to see that she wasn’t helpless and really can excel on her own. She does get help sometimes but it is not necessary. This issue is fantastic because we get to see Judge Anderson take over an investigation. Someone has stolen some pretty important things and she must bring them to justice but it is not as easy as you would think. There is a lot behind this issue and we get an appearance of Judge Dredd, which is super nice.

Matt Smith writes on this issue and Carl Critchlow does duty as artists. Both of these men, do a great job of creating an atmosphere and tone through their art and writing. Smith knows how to empower women while making the story bigger than just that as a story line. Carl is right there with him. He brings to life the motivations and needs of the characters. He is really something special.

Psi Division: Anderson is a must read for Dredd fans.
