The official description from Zenescope:

After the Sheriff of Nottingham murdered Robyn’s closest friend, Will Scarlet, Robyn was left broken and devastated. Soon after her defeat at the hands of the Sheriff, she was apprehended by the police, charged with murder, and imprisoned. However, a secret government agency called HiboCorp contracted Robyn to join their Realm Knights team in exchange for an official pardon. Robyn reluctantly joined the Knights, but will her new lease on life ease the pain of her loss?

GFT Robyn Hood-Age of Darknes One-Shot_CFans be warned: this is a key issue! I don’t say that lightly, and I’m not trying to over inflate this but within the confines of this arc we see a heroine who is forced to face herself and a potential destiny for all the realms. What transpires may lead to things that are not necessarily set in stone but they offer a foreboding feeling.

Pat Shand uses this character to not only ignite some necessary tensions but to push the overall narrative of this universe spanning initiative forward. There’s a lot to chew on, but as we see the inclusion of a few particular baddies time will tell how this corner evolves. As it becomes apparent that we’re witnessing a resounding success, the author delivers on que with a rock solid text. We stand on the threshold of change, and this script shows us an archer who finds someone that could be her true target.

I have to say the consistent and elegant style of Larry Watts perfectly framed this comic book. The talent did a lot of good things in favor of what can, and should, be described as a personal yarn. I have to say the way the illustrator jumps into the visual fray, building up the horde while never diminishing their threat but allowing enough room for our protagonist to triumph, was simply inspired.

Grimm Fairy Tales presents Robyn Hood: Age of Darkness One-Shot is a treat that should get people excited. Recommended.
