The Dresden Files: War Cry #4 Review

Dresden is not someone that can’t be easily defeated and this issue shows it but is winning the battle as good as winning the war? Read on to find out.

A surprise ally has appeared, offering Harry and his beleaguered team salvation. Unfortunately, Baron Bravosa and his army of Red Court vampires have an ace up their collective sleeve–one that puts Dresden and co. at an even more severe disadvantage. With hours still to go till sunrise, Harry will be forced to make a decision that could win them the battle — but lose the war…

Jim Butcher, and  Mark Powers really have a tough task with the DresdenWarCry04-Cov-Sejic-436d5Dresden files because there is nothing small or easy about the world that our characters are in. It is just crazy how they get the world so well. This issue is no different. First off, we have a surprise ally, who isn’t that big of a surprise but is very pleasant make an offer that Dresden really has to consider in order for his team to survive but there is some strings attached. What is great is that the stakes are raised for this issue because the Red Court is really putting the hurt on the world with their army but their advantage could be stopped but at what cost.

Butcher and Powers are really freaking good about developing so many characters but , also, make the stories move along and doesn’t get too involved with itself. It is really nice.

Carlos Gomez does a great job with the panels that he has during this issue. There is a lot going on but Gomez has a nice way of keeping it under control. I really do love his art.
War Cry is a fantastic  story with a lot going but it does work well.
