The Bigger Bang #4 Review

Our hero, Cosmos, has found out some truths about the woman he loves and the world that he is living in. It is, both, heartbreaking and unforgivable but there is more that has to be done in the conclusion of “The Bigger Bang”.

The official description from IDW:

Betrayal! Doubt! Love lost! COSMIC TITANS CLASH in a battle royale between Cosmos and King Thulu, with Wyan caught in the crossfire! The fates of universes hang in the balance as Kirkbride and Gogtzilas bring The Bigger Bang to its thunderous conclusion.

BigBang-04-pr-3-e063eI have been a fan of this series for since it started. It is fantastic and the character is, both, heroic and sad. Being born of death, Cosmos has had  a journey of looking for someone or something to love and call home. We though that he might have found it in Wyan but she has betrayed him. This issue picks up with that revelation an doesn’t stop there. Cosmos flees being heartbroken and needs to find himself a little more. However, his enemy is not going down without a fight. King Thulu is really evil to someone he doesn’t know much about but he has a plan to destroy cosmos. This leads to the climatic end that will leave you a little teary eyed, like it did me.

D.J. Kirkbride has done something special with this character and I hope we get to see more of work like this. I haven’t been on the edge of my seat for a comic for a very long time. It is really crazy and just fantastic.

Vassilis Gogtzilas has a wonderful style going on and continues to impress me. It isn’t sleek or clean but dirty and all over the place which is fantastic for this comic book. It just works so well.

The Bigger Bang #4 delivers on everything a comic should.
