New ASSASSIN’S CREED To Get New Hero And Location!

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot spoke to investors on Thursday with the reassuring news that Assassin’s Creed 3 has sold 12 million units globally. On top of this, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, the Vita version, has sold surprisingly well, at 600,000 units on a system with only a 4 million user base.

Looking to the future, he announced there would be a new Assassin’s Creed game before the end of the financial year, meaning before April 2014. It wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine it will be announced at this years E3. In line with what else we expect to be coming towards the end of the year (cough next generation cough) one would hope it would be gracing the new systems but with it’s yearly iterative nature that’s might be too ambitious.

Most interestingly, he announced that the game will take place in a new time period, a new location and with a new character! Check out our speculation on where the series should go here, but it’s interesting that they would move away from America so quickly after we spent so long with Ezio.

Maybe they understood people got burnt out spending so long in one time, or maybe they just realized people weren’t a huge fan of Connor. Either way it’s a shame we wont get to see more of the great environment’s they made for the first game but change is always good!
