THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Ending Clarified by A Toy

By now we’ve all seen The Dark Knight Rises… hopefully.  Though, if you haven’t, then I apologize for this obligatory utterance, but “GTFO!“.

No, seriously, go!

We’re treading into some SPOILER filled waters, so unless you want Batman’s latest adventure to be completely ruined, then head back to the homepage and check out one of our other fine offerings.  A look at Wolvie’s new hairdo, perhaps?

Anyways… You’ll remember at the film’s climax, Bruce Wayne heroically tethers Bane’s nuclear bomb to the bottom of the Bat and ferries the device out to sea, leaving Gotham untouched by the colossal explosion. The flying rat themed helicopter is destroyed and we all feel safe in our assumption that Batman was killed along with it.

Until the epilogue, that is.

Bruce Wayne miraculously returns, sitting directly across from Alfred in an Italian cafe.

Cue a communal fanboy sigh of relief.

But I think we all had the same question… how the hell did Batman survive that nuclear bomb? Sure, he’s a badass, but how did he better a god damn Nuke?

Well, one of the latest tie-in toys for the film seeks to answer this question. If you’ll take a look at these photos of The Bat below, you’ll see that ol’ Brucey had a special ejection seat fitted with a pair of Lucius Fox’s sleekest wings, for safe measure.

I don’t know how he returned to shore before the blast unnoticed, especially with the millions of stunned gawkers staring out to sea, but I guess I’ll just have to suspend my disbelief for that bit.
