Kim Raver Might Return As Audrey Raines in 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY

Last time we saw Audrey Raines on “24,” she was in a vegetative state after the Chinese kidnapped her and injected her with mind-altering chemicals. Not seen again after season 6, it’s not clear what happened to Jack’s second favorite love-interest (or third if you’re a Renee Walker fan). Well, we may get to find out next year.

TVLine is reporting that Raines actor Kim Raver is nearing a deal to appear in the upcoming 12-episode miniseries “24: Live Another Day.” If the deals goes through, this adds her to the cast so far only composed of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack and Mary Rajskub as Chloe O’Brian. Raver is currently starring in NBC’s “Revolution” as recurring character Julia Neville.

Even though we never saw Raines again, executive producer Howard Gordon later confirmed that she hadn’t bitten the dust.

Audrey is so not dead. She’s not even in a coma. In my opinion, she is at the very worst in a psychiatric facility, but she may also be married to a contractor in Virginia who has a child.

Whether the writers will stick with that backstory for the miniseries remains to be seen, but it’s good that we have another past character reappearing in the miniseries. In my previous article, I mentioned how just because new characters were going to make up the majority of the cast doesn’t mean they should shy away from being back old characters. This is a step in the right direction. Of all of his former love interests, Audrey is the one we got the least amount of closure from, so it’ll be good to see Jack reunite with her if she reappears.

Now all we need is Jack’s daughter Kim and Tony Almeida back and we’ve really got a “24” reunion.
