SPIDER-GWEN in Fantastic Mash-up Trailer!

My Spidey senses are tingling!

It’s telling me that there is a possibility of a Spider-Gwen film in the future?! Spider-Gwen has been around for over a year now, ever since she first appeared in Spider-Verse, and the Edge of Spider-Verse comics. Even though the CEO of Marvel has signed off on a solo series, there has also been talk of a feature film adaptation.

For those who don’t know, in an alternate universe Gwen Stacey was the one that was bitten by a radioactive spider instead of Peter Parker. She becomes Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen for that matter and Peter dies as a result. Back when Spider-Man was fully at Sony, rumors swirled of the studio trying to make a female-led spin-off; there was talk that it would focus on Black Cat, then Silver Sable, and even a 60’s-set Aunt May prequel (yeah…). Towards the end of the year Spider-Gwen was also floated about.

It seems like the fans have taken a liking to the idea of a Spider-Gwen film. Even though nothing has been confirmed, the fans are telling the company in their own way, how much they would approve of the idea. There has been a fan-made trailer that has been growing in popularity. Vulture recuts scenes from movies like Easy A, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Birdman just to name a few, in order to make this Mash-up trailer. Let’s take a look shall we?

This fan-made trailer actually came out pretty good. This trailer made me hopeful of having a Spider-Gwen in the near future. Not to mention it seems like fans are liking the idea of not only a film because of the different adaptation it would have on the Spider-Man unvierse, but also because it would be another Female lead that would come out in the superhero world. Let’s face it, fans are also up for the idea because Emma Stone is in the trailer, but who can blame you? With Wonder Woman coming out in June 2017 from DC, Marvel will definitely be hopping on the train – and are, with Captain Marvel following a year later.

Because of how popular it became, Spider-Gwen has her own comic book series. She was supposed to just be in the Spider-Verse for a short period of time as a cameo, but that didn’t quite happen.

Even though there has been no confirmation as of yet, We’ll just have to wait in see what happens, but for now we can only hope, and still enjoy this Fan-Made trailer.

What do you guys think? Should they even consider making a Spider-Gwen or should they just stop making reboots of anything Spider-Man and just stick with the fan made trailers? Leave your thoughts below!
