Sinister Six Weapons in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Trailer

The first trailer from Marc Webb’s THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 has finally arrived, and it’s delivered an Oscorp vat filled with Sinister Six teasers. Showcasing Doctor Octopus’s mechanical arms, Vulture’s green wings, and an entire room of indiscernible weaponry, I think it’s safe to say that Sony is planning something huge with Spidey. After all, we’ve recently reported that those Wall Crawling executives are in close talks with the good folks at Marvel Studios, probably soliciting advice on how best to create a Spider-Man Cinematic Universe.

I’ve got a theory or two on the matter, but I won’t distract you in this article (look for my random rant/rave later this week). For now, indulge in the awesomeness of this very wacky, very Raimi-esque trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 (and try to count all the Sinister Six weapons you can):

While the first film basked in those cold colors and night time scenes, in a very deliberate attempt to distinguish itself from the previous Raimi trilogy which was so colorful, this new flick seems to rip every aesthetic straight from the Tobey Maguire days. And I completely understand… Spider-Man flaunts a very traditional look, and a film that wouldn’t accurately adapt those superficial traits couldn’t properly portray Spidey on the big screen (kinda talking about that first Amazing Spider-Man movie here). Still, even though I’m ridiculously psyched for Marc Webb’s sequel, and I personally prefer the Webhead’s comic-bookey appearance, I can’t help but wonder what a more liberal adaptation of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be.
