Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch Are Battle Ready In AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Set Pics

It’s been less than a week since the concept art of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch was released on Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe, and now we have our first live-action look at the twins. Avengers: Age of Ultron has begun filming in Aosta, Italy, and set pictures have been released of the Avengers in one monster of a battle. Take a look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen suited up and channeling their inner Pietro and Wanda.

The pics have revealed that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are battling Ultron bots, and whatever specifically happens, it just goes to show that war is indeed hell. Olsen is wearing the same Scarlet Witch clothing that was shown in the concept art. Granted, the red and black outfit does look good on her, but I was hoping for something similar to her comic book look, although there may still be a costume in the works. After all, we got that bright Captain America suit in The Avengers, so clearly outlandish costumes aren’t off limits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And, of course, there’s her brother Quicksilver. Ever since we learned there would be two versions of this character, there’s been a lot of comparison between the Avengers and  X-Men: Days of Future Past versions. I’ve been a frequent critic of the X-Men look, mostly because his punk rock and goggle appearance is awful. However, after seeing both concept art and set pics of Avengers Quicksilver, I can say for certain that Avengers kicks X-Men’s ass.

Like his sister, I’m hoping that he gets a costume, but damn, the shirt and pants certainly do the trick. The silver wig is a bit obvious, but I’m sure movie magic will be able to fix that. Most importantly, that outfit looks like it’s way easier to run in than the Days of Future Past outfit. After all, this guy is a speedster; you have to make sure he can run with ease without being constricted.
