Iron Man ‘s New Armor is Black, White, and Funky All Over

Apparently Tony Stark has a bit of an Outer Space fetish after his brief voyage to the final frontier in THE AVENGERS. The billionaire, playboy, and whatever else will supposedly sport a brand new, NASA themed armor suit at some point in Iron Man 3. Though, I’m betting it’ll be saved for a post-credit scene, with the Guardians of the Galaxy perhaps?

I wouldn’t be in bad company if I made that bet, as a few other geek sites have offered that as their own guess (Latino Review had the nerve to publish it as a scoop… which we all know is code for ‘making this up for traffic’).

This latest round of speculation was instigated by the release of this image, a tie-in toy for IM 3 curiously titled “Deep Space Armor”.

To add greater credence to the Guardians of the Galaxy connection, Robert Downey Jr. said this in a recent interview:

“Everywhere you look now in every Marvel movie there are opportunities where certain new pals of his (Tony’s) could be useful. So they’re in the atmosphere, so to speak, but I wouldn’t expect to see them on the ground in this one.”

While I would have preferred every Marvel film to be a pure, tie-in free piece of pulp, including the Guardians isn’t such a bad idea.  What do you think?
