Well, gang, we have confirmation on the latest addition to the roster of the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game: Lucario, the Aura Pokémon, to the surprise of some. It seems this time, Nintendo hasn’t phased him out for a newer gen Pokémon….not that a newer Pokémon isn’t out of the cards yet!
Lucario, so far, seems to have the same move-set as in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, including his Aura Ball and counter attacks. However, many fans speculate that Lucario’s new Mega form from Pokémon XY will somehow be incorporated. Wanna bet it’ll be Lucario’s Final Smash?
Oh, and remember Lucario’s gameplay quirk in Brawl, where the more damage he takes, the more damage his Aura attacks give? Well, according to Masahiro Sakurai, that feature will be more pronounced in the new game. So, damage Lucario, he’ll hurt you back!
Meanwhile, for Mewtwo fans worried that this means he will not be returning…I thin he has a good chance. Many people are speculating that Lucario only returned thanks to his presence (and Mega form) in XY…and since Mewtwo is also in XY (and has TWO Mega forms), well, it only seems natural he would make it, too!
Lucario is the 22nd confirmed character for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and the second character from Pokémon. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be released late 2014 on said consoles.
