ROSALINA and LUMA Sparkle in Next SMASH BROS. Game!

This morning, Nintendo had another Nintendo Direct, where they announce and discuss upcoming video games. Of course, many fans were holding their breath for more info regarding the next Super Smash Bros. game. Fans weren’t disappointed.

Rosalina (and Luma) have been confirmed as the next playable character(s). Many fans were pleased, although it can be argued that this isn’t too surprising. After all, there had already been confirmation that Mario Galaxy would be getting a stage, not to mention that Rosalina was also playable recently in Super Mario 3D World. Still, this seems to be a smart move on Nintendo’s part, espeacilly for people who had been complaining that there weren’t enough female characters in the Smash Bros. series.

Oh, and Rosaline even gets her own cinematic cutscene:

I think it’s pretty cool, and I like how they incorporated Mario Kart and Rainbow Road into the mix. In fact, now that I think about it, Rainbow Road feels like a Galaxy stage.

One of the interesting things about Rosalina is that she has Luma as a partner, not unlike the Ice Climbers. Hmm, I wonder if this will make the Ice Climbers obsolete….

Anyway, I know that some people will end up having mixed feelings over Luma, but I think he’ll be a cute gimmick, or at least make for a fine meatbag. I – I mean shield, I mean shield!

So, Rosalina fans! Will this news lead you to buy the next Smash game? Or will you just stick to Youtube?
