META KNIGHT Swoops In Next SUPER SMASH BROS!

As the release date for the next Super Smash Bros. edges closer and closer, everyone holds their breath for their favorite character! Now some fans can inhale – fan-favorite (and infamous) Meta Knight has been confirmed!

Hailing from the Kirby series, Meta Knight made his Smash debut in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, where he was subsequently banned from tournaments due to him being a “hacked” character. Will he be “fixed” in this game? Only time will tell. Interestingly, one of his attacks has already been altered – but for the better!

Meta Knight is the 37th confirmed character, and the second character from the Kirby video games. If King Dedede ends up returning from Brawl as well, that would equal three. Meta Knight is also the seventh or sixth swordfighter in the game.

Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be released for the former console on October 3, and for the latter this Winter. The game is being directed by Masahiro Sakurai (Kid Icarus: Uprising).
