Gravity Rush Sequel In the Works?!

I think I speak for all fans of Gravity Rush when I say FINALLY! Revealed at the Sony’s Japan Asia booth at the Tokyo Game Show on Thursday, patrons were treated to footage of the new game which showed the first games protagonist Kat showing off some of her gravity powers, Raven who was another character in the game with gravity powers, and some new concept art for new areas. In addition there was also some text reading “fall again…” and “A New Project from Team Gravity

For those not in the know Gravity Rush (known as Gravity Daze in Japan) was an action-adventure game released last year for the Playstation Vita. The game followed a young girl named Kat, a “shifter” with the ability to manipulate Gravity as she tried to piece together pieces of her past. The game used the Vita’s gyroscope in it’s control scheme, allowing players to tilt the handheld in order to shift directions while flying, attacking, or sliding. While having some RPG elements such as leveling up and sidequests the game mostly focused on the action-adventure formula.

Boasting an open world atmosphere and some very interesting characters, the game was recieved pretty well by critics and became one of the chief reasons people bought a vita (myself included). The story in it unfolded nicely and there was more than enough open questions to leave room for a sequel. Here are some screenshots from the show booth:

Not much information is known about the game at this point, but there is sure to be more in the coming months. Until then, if you have a Vita and haven’t played Gravity Rush get it now! If you don’t have a Vita, go buy one then get Gravity Rush, you won’t be disappointed.
