First YOUNG JUSTICE: LEGACY Video Game Trailer Does Not Impress…

When it was announced that Young Justice was getting a video game, named Young Justice: Legacy, I thought that was cool news. The show was awesome, so a game should be almost as good. And then when I heard that the video game was canon to the television series, would take place between seasons 1 and 2, and would be written by two of the show’s writers (Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti) I was stoked. And the game’s developer, Little Orbit, even mentioned that if this game sells well, a sequel could be possible. And the voice cast from the show would reprise their roles to boot!

And then the first trailer for Legacy was released.

Yeah, its really bad. The animation is not impressive at all. The game will be playable on the PlayStation 3, and yet it resembles a PlayStation 2 game. What makes this worse is that the game was delayed, and we all figured that the reason was for the animation to get polished. Meanwhile, the gameplay looks generic, and the trailer’s narration is dull and monotone.

For me, the grating fact about this is, the game does not seem like it will sell well at all. And no sales=no sequel. And since the show is gone, a game sequel could have been our last hope to wrap up all the show’s loose ends!

Young Justice: Legacy will be released for the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows on September 10. The game features over 10 playable characters, at least four DLC characters, and over 10 villains.
