The Jackdaw Returns in ASSASSIN’S CREED IV: Game of the Year Edition

If you enjoyed Edward Kenway’s slightly convoluted piratical adventures (and I sure hope you did) in last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, or are intending to pick the game up for the first time and have a wad of disposable income? Ubisoft have announced that Black Flag will be getting a Game of the Year, or Jackdaw Edition later this month, complete with all the trimmings as a UK exclusive.

The Jackdaw Edition includes the main game (because let’s face it, it’d be a bit weird if they didn’t include it), plus the Season Pass – that’s meaty story DLC Freedom Cry, starring former quartermaster Adewale, multiplayer goodies in Blackbeard’s Wrath (because why wouldn’t you want to play as Blackbeard) and Guild of Rogues – and some extra content in the form of the Pirates Pack including extra missions plus three add-on packs.

Sadly for those either outside the UK and/or with an irrational hatred of online shopping, the Jackdaw Edition is only available in the UK on PS4, Xbox One and PC exclusively on Amazon – but happily, that extra content is available to download in any country if you own Black Flag (and if you own a PlayStation, you don’t even need Black Flag to play Freedom Cry, as it’s gone standalone).

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag: Jackdaw Edition: Into Darkness (last subtitle can be cut if need be) hits Amazon UK on 28th March – and if you want to pick up the vanilla version, it’s available now for pretty every console.
