Viz Media Summer Release Calender

After gushing over Funimation’s Summer Releases in my “Funimation Is On A Mission To Drain Wallets This Summer!” article. i thought it was only fair to travel over to the good ole west coast to see what other anime giant Viz Media had to offer for us loyal anime watchers.

For those of you who may not know Viz’s mostly specializes in manga but they also have their own laundry list of licensed anime as well, most prominently being known for their dubs of the ultra popular BLEACH & Naruto series, both of which are part of Japan’s “Big 3” in Weekly Shonen Jump (the other being One Piece). Now while Funimation licenses a lot of anime, chances are if it has a manga adaptation it’s licensed by Viz. But you didn’t read this article for a history lesson so let’s get to the anime.

Now as you can see Viz has some worthwhile releases in their own right. While Naruto & Bleach have once again descended into the pit fall of anime called “filler”, it is still entertaining filler. Lagrange itself is a new anime that Viz got it’s hands on and the dub originally premiered on it’s streaming channel Neon Alley (which is available on PS3 & XBOX, it is worth the money, just saying). The second season is currently airing on the channel. I had the chance to catch Lagrange on the channel and it is a pretty dcent anime, nothing too spetacular but it does boast some good characters and amazing visuals so it is well worth a watch.

Don’t let daunting prices stop you from buying these though. You can purchase all of these sets from either Amazon or rightstuf.com for about half the price. So what are you waiting for? Pre-order (In Lagrange & Bleach’s case buy) Now!
