TRANSFORMERS BEAST MACHINES Receiving New DVD Release!

Shout! Factory has done it again, Transformers fans! This time, they’ve announced that they have the DVD rights to yet another Transformers show, the rather infamous Beast Machines!

The complete series will be released in a single boxset on September 2nd, and will be priced around $29.99. The show has already received a DVD release in the past, but they are long OOP.

Transformers: Beast Machines, the sequel to the acclaimed Beast Wars, aired for two seasons from 1999 to 2000. Unlike Beast Wars, Beast Machines was met with mostly negative reception, with fans saying it had changed for the worse since Wars, with some of the plots being overly-confusing.

Shout! Factory has already released Transformers G1, the Transformers Japanese trilogy (Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory), Transformers: Beast Wars, Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Prime, and Transformers: Rescue Bots on DVD, and Blu-ray where applicable. They plan to release Transformers: Energon, Cybertron, and Animated later this year.

Having never seen Beast Machines myself, I’m curious if all the bad things I’ve heard about it are true, and I’m just happy that Shout! is expanding their already impressive Transformers catalogue.

So…will you be buying the new Beast Machines boxset? Or will you be passing on this particular series?
