The Threat Is Global In New 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Trailer

London, buckle up! Jack Bauer’s in town and no one, good or bad, is safe. We’ve finally got our first official look at 24: Live Another Day in its newest trailer. Technically teasers were released during the Superbowl, but this is the first trailer that shows actual footage from the upcoming limited series. It’s , but the action looks like it will be just as explosive as previous seasons. Take a look!

I’ll say this for 24: four years after its cancellation, and Jack is still in rare form. As fans might remember, Jack became a fugitive during season 8 and was forced to leave the United States. Turns out, even if you’re in England, that won’t stop the CIA from hunting you down. Aside from shouting, running and explosions, what was most notable was seeing Audrey Raines and James Heller, who is now the President of the United States. The last time we saw Audrey, Jack was forced to see goodbye to her after realizing he couldn’t keep her safe. About 8-9 years later (in 24 time), she’s now married to her father’s chief of staff Mark Boudreau. Needless to say, this guy doesn’t care for Audrey’s ex-lover at all.

"He's a psychopath." No, Jack just has anger issues.

“He’s a psychopath.” No, Jack just has anger issues.

The danger this season is the possibility of the president being assassinated in London. This would seemingly have to do with U.S. drone incursions in foreign nations. According to Jack, World War III will ignite if Heller dies. Without getting into the politics of U.S. foreign policy, there was a comment on the trailer that’s quite astute. A foreign president died in  the U.S. in season 8 and it wasn’t that big of a deal one they found a replacement, but if Heller dies in London a war will start? A little drastic, if you ask me.

Regardless, as a fan of the show, I’m looking forward to its return, and it doesn’t look to have missed a step. Although hopefully Jack will have gotten used to driving on the left side of the road. Otherwise those car chases aren’t going to last long.
