The STAR WARS EPISODE VII Villain Looks A Lot Like Darth Vader

Earlier today, we showed you the what the new stormtrooper helmets might look like in Star Wars Episode VII, but the villainous news doesn’t stop there. If the newest rumor from Latino Review is correct, the main Episode VII antagonists will not only be connected to the iconic villains from the Original Trilogy, but also a certain character in an upcoming TV series.

According to LR, the main villains for Episode VII will be the called The Inquisitors. If that title sounds familiar to you, it’s because the main bad guy in the upcoming animated series Star Wars Rebels is called The Inquisitor. According to the article, the Inquisitors are “defenders of the Sith Order and they’ve been around for a long time. Just how long is what turns Episode VII’s story on it’s head.” But that’s not all.

In the movie, after our protagonists find Luke Skywalker and discover the Inquisitors, there will be a flashback not only delving into their connection with the Sith. In this flashback, not only will we see Carrie Fisher’s daughter play a young Princes Leia, but we’ll also get a cameo from…wait for it…DARTH VADER! That’s right, during the Empire’s reign, the Inquisitors were serving the esteemed Dark Lord of the Sith. That makes sense, given the main Inquisitor’s role in Star Wars Rebels.

Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “This is just another rumor. Why should we give it any more thought than the others?” Well, that is true, but this one also seems to have more weight to it. Several hours after LR published their exclusive, Badass Digest chimed. While pointing out that these Dark Siders may be called something different in the final product, the site mentioned that there will be a “main Inquisitor villain,” and gave a description of his appearance.

He wears a black robe. His eyes are deep red. And half of his face is metal. He’s a cyborg. That was his hand in the picture JJ Abrams shared with the note about A Force For Change.

Star-Wars-Hand

Hmm, so that hand might not be Luke’s prosthetic after all. And if all that wasn’t enough for you, the folks over at Indie Revolver (who supplied the new stormtrooper photos) have posted this image of the main Inquisitor holding Darth Vader’s shattered helmet. What could his interest in the Sith Lord’s armor be?

Again, this isn’t official information, but with three sources backing this idea, these Inquisitors may actually be our main baddies for Episode VII and possibly all of the sequel trilogy. There are still a lot of questions left, though. What is their plan? How Force-capable are they? What have they been up to since the Empire was destroyed? Did Inquisitor Prime get his mechanical hand from the same emporium that Darth Vader bought his from? We still have much to learn about them, but if these villains are actually related to the Star Wars Rebels villain, some answers may come our way in the fall.
