SPIDER-MAN v. The Delayed MARVEL Movies

How big of a deal is it that Marvel and Sony struck an agreement involving Spider-Man? Big enough that the House of Ideas has moved their release dates around to make room in Phase 3 for that one arachnid guy that we all know and love.

The new schedule takes Thor: Ragnarok and moves it to November 3, 2017. That might sound familiar because Black Panther was supposed to arrive that day. No worries fanboys and fangirl T’Challa is still coming to the big screen in a solo outing but just a tad bit later, July 6, 2018. Captain Marvel will now swoop in and save the day November 2, 2018 followed by Inhumans now set for July 12, 2019.

The Avenging Spider-Man

All of that has been done to make some necessary space for a, as yet, untitled Spider-Man flick. I’m going to go ahead and say it: Marvel and Sony you should name this brand new series – Spectacular Spider-Man! Why? Because that cartoon was awesome and I thoroughly enjoyed the way that just rolled off my tongue! And please for the love of all things tingly, do not do a full reboot where we’re dealing with high school melodrama again. I think we, as an audience have grown past that. Truth be told we need a web-slinger that’s university level or higher.

What say you true believers? You like that title? Should these movies be shifted around like this?
