SHOUT! FACTORY to Release TRANSFORMERS: ANIMATED and UNICRON TRILOGY on DVD!

Shout! Factory is quickly becoming a fan-favorite when it comes to DVD releases. Power Rangers, G.I. Joe, and My Little Pony, others. But quite possibly their biggest monopoly is the Transformers series. And that money train isn’t stopping anytime soon, as Shout! has announced that they have acquired distribution rights for Transformers: Animated, and the Transformers Unicron Trilogy, which consists of Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and Transformers: Cybertron.

Transformers: Animated was previously released on DVD, but is now out-of-print, not to mention that only two out of the three seasons were released. With this news, fans might finally have a chance to legally own the final season!

Transformers: Armada, Energon, and Cybertron also had previous DVD releases. However, the releases were of low-quality, and are also out-of-print, so this news will save collector a lot of money!

Shout! Factory is no stranger to the Transformers series. They’ve already released the original series, the Japanese sequels (Headmasters, Super-God Masterforce, Victory), Beast Wars, Prime, and Rescue Bots on DVD. The only series that Shout! has yet to release are the various Beast Wars sequels and spin-offs (Beast Machines, Beast Wars Neo, etc) and Robots in Disguise. But hey, we can hope!

Animated and the Unicron Trilogy have no release dates yet, and Shout! hasn’t even formally announced if both series will be DVD only, or if additional formats will be available. Keep your ears open!
