Secret Agents Galore! AGENT CARTER Recruits DOLLHOUSE And ONE TREE HILL Alums

Peggy Carter finally has some friends to help her on her post-World War II missions. What, you didn’t think she’d be hanging out with Howard Stark the whole time, did you? Marvel has revealed two new additions to Agent Carter‘s main cast: Dollhouse star Enver Gjokaj, who will play Agent Daniel Sousa, and One Tree Hill alumnus Chad Michael Murray, who will play SSR Agent Jack Thompson. Both will meet Carter “while she takes on a new role at the SSR in New York City.” While there isn’t any more information about Thompson, according to Deadline, Sousa is “a true war hero who has risked his life many times – resulting once in a crippling leg injury.”

Sousa and Thompson are the fourth and fifth characters to be officially announced for Agent Carter, behind Carter herself, Stark and Edwin Jarvis, Stark’s butler who will later be the inspiration for Tony Stark’s A.I. J.A.R.V.I.S. Both agents are original characters, so don’t go looking to any Marvel books for background on them. Interestingly enough, this isn’t Gjokaj’s first foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He had a bit part playing “Young Cop” in The Avenger. Hmm, I don’t know. That’s quite the continuity error. An actor playing two different roles in a franchise? That’s unheard of! Although, perhaps Young Cop is a descendant of this Agent Sousa. Knowing how detailed Marvel is with their cinematic history, I wouldn’t be surprised if they came up with such a backstory…okay, I’d be a little surprised.

While this is official confirmation on these characters, Sousa and Thompson both appeared on a leaked list detailing Agent Carter‘s main characters earlier this year. If this list is to be believed, that means there are still three roles to be cast, with names possibly subject to change: Deputy Director Roger Hooley, Edward Hutchins and Angie Martinelli. Either way, with the series only months away from its premiere, expect more casting information soon.
