June 2016 Geek Fuel Review

GEEK FUEL is a monthly comic con in a box subscription service that will run you $23.90 a month with shipping included.  If you order multiple boxes at once though you will be hooked up with various discounts and bonuses. Is May’s box worth your cash? We’ll be taking a look at what’s included this month for you to decide.

So First off we have Geek Fuel’s Magazine, always a nice little read.  We also have Bit Evolution for Steam and a Mario stamp and Pokemon temporary tattoos.

This is my favorite item of the box by far, and one of the all time coolest exclusives Geek Fuel has offered.  It’s a Mario pipe, planter.  I have been playing Mario for over 20 years, and as a (pseudo) adult I have plants.  I gotta get a PVC Mario to go with this.

Next up we have a TMNT Pokemon mash up stress ball.  The item is cool and high quality, but I really dislike Pokemon.  We also get a Sherlock Manga.  Always did comics in these blocks.

Lastly we have the T-Shirt.  This is an incredibly clever print, that caused an audible chuckle when I saw it.  Problem is I really never liked Pokemon, at all.  I actually kinda loath Pokemon.  Capturing living creatures for them to tournament fight for you kinda makes you a dick, period.  I enjoyed Starz’ Spartacus series, but the captured living creatures were the protagonists searching for freedom, not the slave owners.  I await your hateful replies below.

So was this month’s GEEK FUEL worth your money? Depends on what you think of the franchises represented here.  If you think Pokemon is awesome and not a tacit endorsement of slavery though I would imagine you’d be pretty happy.  The Mario pipe is incredibly cool, but personally I didn’t dig this crate as much as others.  From a dollar value perspective think of it this way, would you pay $23.90 for some of this stuff on Ebay?
