IXTH GENERATION is COMING, GET EXCITED!

I don’t know about my fellow Top Cow fans but the absence of Aphrodite IX has left a hole in my pull-list that needs to be filled. The truth is I keep adding and canceling other indie books but none of them speak to me the way this volume did and without Think Tank right now I need my tech fix.

From the exquisite art by Stjepan Šejić to the thought provoking words of Matt Hawkins there’s just so much to dig in this ruined future on a rather cursed Earth. The dynamic duo took what was once a straight up by the numbers out of continuity character and ushered her into a new existence within this company’s newly re-founded continuity.

IXth Generation 1_C

Previous iterations of our green haired assassin appeared in Witchblade and Cyber Force but now we have the opportunity see something special as a massive Protocol goes into full effect with those oh so special armaments in play.

The official description for IXTH GENERATION #1:

In the future there is no more natural death, no needs unfilled and everything you could ever want is yours… as long as you’re one of the ones chosen to live in this new Utopia and you’re willing to subjugate yourself to these new self-proclaimed gods with “IX”s emblazoned on them.

Do the ends truly justify the means? Is a utopia built on genocide worth the price? Aphrodite, Velocity, Hades, and the other Nines establish fiefdoms in this new world and attempt to rule. Their internal clashes have escalated, but they are forced to put that aside as they face off against the relentless hordes of the Darkness. The sins of the past have come to claim those who would pretend to be Gods. The cybernetic future established in APHRODITE IX and CYBER FORCE finally comes face-to-face with the supernatural ARTIFACTS side of the Top Cow universe!

Jumping out from the seeds of a line-wide rebirth, we’ve seen the resurgence of Aphrodite IX, a property that’s been dormant for far too long. And now the title’s about to play with those ancient artifacts, and so it’s time to walk over to the local comic shop and say: “sign me up and just take my money!”

What do you think my fellow fanboys and fangirls? Are you eager to read this? Or will you protest and skip (and why would you do that?!)?
