4 Marvel Movies I Favor Over CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Last night I finally got around to seeing Captain America: Winter Soldier and I loved it. I will definitely put it up there on the top best Marvel movies list. However, I can’t say that it’s my favorite because I don’t really care about Marvel’s boy scout like I do others.

Marvel’s Avengers

I flipped the F out when I saw it in theaters and soiled my pants when Dr. Banner revealed his secret to transforming from mild mannered doctor to the green-alien-stomping-monster.

Not only was this the first time Joss Whedon had directed a full movie since Serenity, but moviegoers finally got to see  Disney’s super group together in one setting.

Packed with Hulk SMASHING lines and non-stop eye-glazing fanboy action scenes, the only thing that could be done was marking out with your nerd friends in the theaters.

Spiderman 1 & 2

I feel like I grew up with Peter Parker and I can relate to his complicated life of chasing red heads and juggling between school and work. I might not be a super hero, but I do my best to be a good person, dammit.

Sam Raimi  was another reason why I love this movie. I’ve always enjoyed his point of view shots, cheesy humor, and the character development between Peter, his friends, and MJ had me emotionally invested.

When Spiderman came out I went back and saw it to relive the excitement four times. I was disapointed to see Raimi’s franchise dissolve, but was very glad it was adapted for the big screen and looking forward to The Amazing Spiderman 2 on June 26th.

Blade 2

I can’t remember to save my life, but I think my friend and I were initially trying to sneak into Cabin Fever, but since the ushers were guarding the doors we snuck into Guillermo del Toro’s Blade 2 instead.

It was fate. Guillermo’s gory and fast pace action scenes against the reaper vampires made for a sick and sadistic Marvel movie.

Sadly the follow up, Blade 3, was forgetful, but we did get to see Hell Boy break through onto the big screen thanks to Guillermo’s love for anti-heroes.

The Guardians of the Galaxy

I know, its not out yet. The only things I got to go off of are the trailers and the handful of comics I’ve picked up and that’s really all I need. The characters are instantly lovable (I am Groot) and everything is set in space (Oooooo, space).

Plus, you probably already know this, but Gamora is Thanos‘ daughter. My mind immediately spins off to the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avenger’s teaming up in a sequel to battle the Mad Titan, Thanos.  He’s been announced to be in GotG so the doors are opening between the two universes.

The team is an ensemble of otherworldly characters like Rocket Raccoon who declares “murdered you each time he takes a bad guy down and James Gunn (Slither, Super) directed the solid cast with Chris Pratt (The Lego Movie, Parks and Recreation) leading  as the fearless leader, Star Lord. It’s gonna be one hellavu movie that I believe will live up to the hype. Catch GotG August 1.

Is Winter Soldier your favorite Marvel movie? Can you relate to my list above or do you have your own? Fanboy it up and let me know!
