Will Marc Webb Return To Direct The Amazing Spider-Man 2?

Possibly. In an interview with The Huffington Post director Marc Webb revealed that he is unsure of whether he’ll be returning to direct the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man, even though he is under contract. Joss Whedon said a similar thing when asked if he would direct The Avengers 2, so Webb probably just needs a little time away from web-slinging. He never struck me as a big-budget or franchise type of guy, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he did turn it down and opted to make more indie films (akin to (500) Days of Summer) and music videos from now on. But with The Amazing Spider-Man currently sitting on a 92% approval rating at Rotten Tomatoes, I expect Sony will persuade him to return.
