Who’s Rachel McAdams Playing in DOCTOR STRANGE?!

If you’re watching True Detective at the moment, then you might have noticed the actress playing the spunky blonde-haired police woman who invaded that brothel in the first episode. Truthfully, that was the only episode I watched and I didn’t like it which is why that’s the only thing I know of the character.

Anyway, that actress is Rachel McAdams, and apparently she’s being looked at for Doctor Strange!!!

Heroic Hollywood (who are pretty reliable) are saying that an offer has been made to the actress to play the female lead in the movie, although it’s unspecified who. The most likely option is that she’s playing Clea; she’s typically Strange’s lover in the comics, who also happens to be the niece of his nemesis Dormammu (awkward) and the Sorceress Supreme of the Dark Dimension – so she’s pretty badass.

Obviously, just because an offer has been made doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be McAdams in the role. However, she’s a fantastic actress (another credit is Irene Adler in the RDJ-vehicle Sherlock Holmes from a few years back) and would be a great addition to the MCU. Plus, playing a badass magic lady must sound a hell of a lot more appealing than your typical damsel in distress.

Rachel McAdams will (hopefully!) join Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tilda Swinton in Doctor Strange next November. Here at UTF, we’ve already bought our tickets.
