Many said it would never happen. Many were wrong. It has now been confirmed today that The Dark Knight Rises has broken the $1B mark worldwide! The news comes after the China release of both Nolan’s last Bat-movie and The Amazing Spider-Man (with the latter recently making over $700M worldwide), with it making $28.5M over it’s first 7 days in the country and the movie now sitting at a global gross of $1.005B and an international gross of $574M.
Additionally, due to the Japan release of The Avengers, Marvel’s superhero team-up of a life time has now made past $1.5B worldwide. This is truly a fantastic year for comic book movie fans and general geeks, in terms of quality and finance!
