Ridley Scott Talks PROMETHEUS And BLADE RUNNER Sequels

News broke about a year ago that work was starting on a follow-up to the 80’s sci-fi hit Blade Runner, and it’s at about the same place it was last year. I think there was a rumour it would be a prequel, and Ridley Scott described a scene from the movie, but other than that we’re not sure how it’ll play out. Additionally, Scott’s most recent flick Prometheus is also getting a sequel, set for release in 2014 as the finale of the movie was a pretty big set-up for one (well, the entire movie was). In an interview with The Metro, Scott was asked for updates on both movies’ respective sequels and had this to say:

“Prometheus evolved into a whole other universe. You’ve got [Elizabeth Shaw] with the head in a bag that functions and has an IQ of 350. It can explain to her how to put the head back on the body and she’s gonna think about that long and hard because, once the head is back on his body, he’s dangerous. They’re going off to paradise but it could be the most savage, horrible place. Who are the Engineers?”

And when asked about the Blade Runner sequel, he said:

“It is happening. With Harrison Ford? I don’t know yet. Is he too old? Well, he was a Nexus-6 so we don’t know how long he can live.”

So there you have it, there will definitely be a Blade Runner sequel. What do you think? Share your thoughts below.
