Potentially HUGE The Dark Knight Rises Spoiler

Just like the title claims, we’ve stumbled across a potentially HUGE spoiler from Nolan’s upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, so if you want to leave UTF with your Bat Chastity intact, turn away now!

Alright, now that the obligatory ‘spoiler alert’ is out of the way… A photo of Mattel’s TDKR lineup has been circulating the great web for a few hours and it features an unnamed character who bears a striking resemblance to our favorite pointy-eared hero. While we’ve yet to see an official description for these toys, this suit seems inspired by the classic 90’s hero Azrael (or villian, depending on what books you’ve read).

Of course, this could just be ol’ Brucey’s special ‘ninja suit’ or some other bizarre spinoff of his current Bat garb… but I’m not buying that.
After all, TDKR is heavily inspired by Knightfall, the story that birthed both Bane (or at least solidified him as a lead villain) and gave rise to Azrael’s vigilante spree. Considering that Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character John Blake has been conspicuously avoided in all of the WB’s press releases,  I think he just might have a few secrets up his sleeve… most likely of the Bat-suit variety.
