New Man of Steel, Obilivion, Oz, and World War Z Images Released

Warner Bros. has released a new image from their upcoming comic-book film Man of Steel. The image features Henry Cavill as Superman, along with the military. The film is being released June 14, 2013, and is being directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen).

Meanwhile, Universal Pictures has released a new image from their upcoming sci-fi film Oblivion, which is based off the graphic novel of the same name, which was written by Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy), who is also directing and co-producing the film. The image features Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman. The film will come out in theaters April 12, 2013.

Next, Walt Disney Pictures has released an image from their upcoming fantasy flick Oz the Great and Powerful. The film served as a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, and is being directed by Sam Raimi (the Spider-Man Trilogy). The film stars James Franco. The film will be released March 8, 2013.

Finally, Paramount Pictures has released a still from their upcoming post-apocalyptic film World War Z, which is based on the novel of the same name by Max Brooks (G.I. Joe: Hearts & Minds). The film is being directed by Marc Forster (Quantum of Solace), and stars Brad Pitt. The film will be released in theaters June 21, 2013.

From these films, I think Oblivion looks the most interesting, at least judging from the trailer. Man of Steel and Oz look like they could go either way. World War Z looks boring, IMO. Zombie films just aren’t my thing.
