Hugh Jackman ‘s WOLVERINE Will Be In X-MEN : DAYS OF FUTURE PAST

Here’s a bit more bat-sh*t news for X-MEN : DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Following Bryan Singer’s recent announcement that Patrick Stewart and Ian Mckellen would reprise their classic roles (Professor X and Magneto… as if you didn’t know), a Fox leak revealed Hugh Jackman is also in talks to return as slice & dice mutie Wolverine. Considering that ol’ mutton chops was in the quasi reboot X-MEN : FIRST CLASS, I gotta admit I’m not too surprised by this news.

After all, this flick is an adaptation of the classic dystopian tale Days of Future Past, which features Wolvie in a heavy light. They’d have to answer to a horde of angry fanboys if they dared to omit him, but Fox should be accustomed to that by now after the butchering of X-Men The Last Stand.

What do you guys think of this news? While I’m really excited to see a ballsy, time travelling superhero flick on the big screen, I’m also a little sad to see the awesome new world of characters from X-MEN : FIRST CLASS crammed into the greasy cogs of Singer’s previous mutant flicks.

Maybe we’ll just have to trust this guy…
