Guess Who Will Play Watson on CBS’ “Elementary”? Lucy Liu… OH WAIT

Yes Yes Yes, you read it right, Charlie Angels actress Lucy Liu will be playing a female version of John Watson on CBS Elementary, conveniently named “Joan Watson”. In this completely new direction for the Arthur Connan Doyle’s tale, Jonny Lee Miller plays eccentric Brit Sherlock Holmes who is a retired consultant for Scotland Yard. He’ll find his way to New York after a bout with addiction therapy, which leads him to a rehab center in New York City.

Just out of rehab, Holmes now lives in Brooklyn with “sober companion” Joan Watson (Liu), a former surgeon who lost her license after a patient died, while consulting for the NYPD. The pilot will be directed by Michael Cuesta, and it will be produced by CBS TV Studios and Timberman/Beverly.
