Fox Taps TOTAL RECALL Scribe For DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes recently found a new director in the form of Matt Reeves (Cloverfield), who replaced Rupert Wyatt, the director of the first movie, and now it’s found a new writer. Fox liked the original movie’s writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver script for the sequel, but has now hired Total Recall and The Wolverine writer Mark Bomback to rewrite the movie.

We’re yet to see if The Wolverine is any good or not (according to everyone involved it’s great), but obviously Total Recall sucked and was hated by pretty much everybody – although he wrote Live Free and Die Hard which wasn’t bad. If I’m honest, I definitely would have preferred if Fox had keps the original writers, but Bomback will probably give it more of an action movie feel, which would go well with Matt Reeves’ directing.

What do you think? Are you pleased to see a new writer on board Dawn of the Planet of the Apes? Share your thoughts below.
