DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Story Arc Confirmed for X-MEN: FIRST CLASS SEQUEL

We’ve heard rumblings of this rumor for some time, but Producer Bryan Singer (who also directed X-Men and X-Men United) has finally confirmed that the FIRST CLASS sequel will, in fact, follow the comic events in Days of Future Past.

Here’s a transcript of the best parts thanks to our friends at CBM:

“I can say that it’s being written right now and it will start shooting in a few months. It’s going to be very ambitious; it’s called Days of Future Past and it deals with aspects of that comic, but also some very new things. I don’t want to give any of it away. Matthew Vaughn will be directing and I’m totally excited about it.”

“I think there’s a strong desire to broaden out the universe. I mean, the X-Men universe is every bit on its own as big as the Marvel universe. I think it’s time to reach out and explore it and perhaps even bring some connectivity between the films as Marvel has done so well. You may seem some of that.”

What does this mean?

Well… we no longer have to argue about plot holes between the original Mutie flicks and their newer prequel. Days is a time travelling, dimension hopping affair which could entirely cure Fox’s X-Men universe of any glaring descrepencies.

Oh… and cameos. Lots and lots of cameos.

As I’ve just said, Days is a story that takes place at two separate points in time, so there’s a good chance that we’ll see some of the original X-Men cast return to interact with their past selves.

And of course… Wolverine!

After all, he’s one of the main characters from the original comic arc. I’m not sure if Director Matthew Vaughn would be too excited about beefing up Hugh Jackman’s role in the film, but there’s a possiblity.

What do you think of the news?  Excited? Worried?  Sound off!
