Ben Affleck’s Brother Joins INTERSTELLAR

I doubt this was a casting decision anyone was expecting. Casey Affleck, brother of Ben Affleck, revealed in an interview with Elle Magazine earlier that he is set to star in Christopher Nolan’s highly-anticipated next directorial effort, Interstellar. The film already stars Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine and Bill Irwin, so it marks yet another unexpected and inspired casting choice from the ex-Dark Knight director.

I’ve got a movie coming out at Thanksgiving called Out of the Furnace, and I’m going to work on a Chris Nolan movie in the fall.

Interstellar starts filming this August in Canada, so it’s definitely the movie he’s talking about. Now comes the question of who he’s actually playing. Nearly every character in the film is a scientist, so he’ll definitely be one of those, but whether or not he’ll be a scientist in space with Cooper (McConaughey) is anyone’s guess. I’ve never seen Casey Affleck in anything, but I hear he was excellent in Jesse James (he was Oscar-nominated for that) so that might be a good place to start for those of us who are clueless when it comes to him.
