Another STAR WARS EPISODE VII Director Rumour – This Time For An Indie Guy

Even though this is Star Wars Episode VII news – which is always awesome and I still can’t believe I’m typing that – I have to say I’m getting a bit tired of the onslaught of director rumours for the sequel, but unfortunately they won’t be done yet. The rumours have gone from Brad Bird to Matthew Vaughn and now they’ve landed on Colin Trevorrow (I haven’t heard of him either), an indie director who recently made the sci-fi comedy Safety Not Guaranteed, which I hear is fantastic and has tons of Star Wars references.

Celeb Buzz report that George Lucas met with Trevorrow months ago – before the Disney deal was announced – to discuss helming the project, but even now he is apparently still on the shortlist. The director is definitely an unusual choice, who has only made three movies before: Safety Not Guaranteed, Gary: Under Crisis and Reality Show, which were an indie movie, a TV movie and a documentary respectively.

Who would you like to see direct Star Wars Episode VII and what do you think of Colin Trevorrow possibly directing it? Share your thoughts below.
