20th Century Fox Schedule INDEPENDENCE DAY 2 & Shuffle Release Dates

Twentieth Century Fox have been busy shuffling the releases for their 2014 tentpoles – and today, they’ve revealed the new release dates for their 2014 slate. That, and they’ve scheduled an indie movie called Independence Day 2God knows what that’s meant to be.

In some good news, sequel/prequel/prequel-sequel X-Men Days of Future Past, originally scheduled for July 18th, 2014, has now been pushed forward to the Memorial Day release date of May 23, 2014. That means we get to see the mutant-packed seprequel two months earlier than usual… which should hopefully be a good thing. If Bryan Singer delivers, anyway. Fellow seprequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes takes DOFP‘s place on July 18th, 2014. Sorry, folks, no apes riding on horses until then.

The movie of Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender as An Assassin, has been pushed back from its May release to June 19, 2015. And finally, Independence Day 2, belated sequel to the Roland Emmerich, Will Smith-starring Independence Day, will be released on July 3, 2015. Factor in The Avengers 2, Ant-Man, Star Wars: Episode VII, (probably) Man of Steel 2Fantastic Four, Pirates of the Carribean 5 and Finding Dory, and it looks like 2015 is shaping up to be quite the year for movies.
