The Squidder #3 Review

What is occurring with the Squidder, especially since the last issue was so explosive and really made you wonder if our hero would survive? Read on to find out more/

The Squidder lies broken and battered as the true enemy finally shows it’s face. Can it be killed when a world war couldn’t stop it before? New allies are found and weapons forged. Battle lines are drawn and loyalties tested as the Squidder deals with his past, his old demons and a small group of squiddly rebels who think they actually stand a chance. Also, finally, tentacles! Lots of them.Plus interesting places to put swords.

Okay, so I have to say that this about the Squidder, it is very good and works well now that it has been dropped into it. It is Squidder-03-pr-1-4754csomething that I wasn’t expecting especially with something called Squidder but I have been proven wrong, this issue really made me think that.  The issue starts with the Squidder really broken which gives us a real sense of the character. It really does some great stuff with the past of the Squidder, which is what makes this shine. It is a really great series that is turning out to be more than just a guy battling giant squids but a guy just to remember what being human is like.

Ben Templesmith does a great job of writing and artistry, which is something that you don’t always get from a comic. It is hard to find that kind of talent but it seems that he has it under control. It is a nice because the writer knows what the artist wants. It is fantastic. You will have to read it to see what I mean. The other part, is that Ben knows how to make you really like a character even when they are doing not so heroic things.

Overall, Squidder is a great story with some neat elements that shine through the comic book.
