ROT & RUIN #1 Review

The new adventures of ROT AND RUIN have started but are they as good as the old or is worth a pass? Read on to find out more.

Brand new adventures set in the world of Rot & Ruin! Written by NY Times best-selling author and multiple Bram Stoker award-winner, Jonathan Maberry, this all-new storyline continues events from the award-winning series of novels. In Rot & Ruin: Warrior Smart we meet Benny, Nix, Lilah and Chong as they travel through the Sierra Nevada mountains just one faltering step ahead of zombie hordes and one giant leap behind the plane flying through the sky that set them on their journey of discovery.

The new adventures of Rot and Ruin and let me tell you that they are fun. It is both exciting andRotRuin-01-pr-1-e1cc4 very fun. I really have enjoyed it. We have all these people right from the beginning and we learn to go with them right away. It is a fun adventure with some big consequences if they don’t keep up.  They are running from zombies, which can be overdone but this is a fresh take because its more about the journey and discovery towards the end that sets it apart from other Zombie comics. It is a little slow but I think that the issues will get better.

Jonathan Maberry is great writer and really knows how to develop characters but the story kind of starts slow. Now I know that the excitement is from the characters being chased but it just doesn’t move quickly enough for me. However, other parts are great so I think he is a great writer for adding dynamic and characterization to characters.

Tony Vargas is a fantastic artist because of the things that are being done within these pages. He effortlessly glides our eyes from panel to panel with interesting landscapes and great facial expressions.

Rot and Ruin  is a fun start even though it’s a little slow.
