White Suits #3 Review

Will Prizrak and Sarah finally take down the White Suits? Read on to find out.

The official description from Dark Horse:

Mob war erupts in Chinatown! In a desperate final gambit, New York’s criminal underworld and their Russian mercenaries draw the murderous White Suits into a deadly ambush, with ex-Suit Prizrak and FBI agent Sarah Anderson as hostages. With no way out but death, who will survive the “Kill Box”?

whitesuits3p3White Suits has been a brilliant thrill ride so far being an extremely unique and mysterious story so far. In this issue we get a lot of action as mercenaries have Prizrak and Sarah captive, using them to draw out the White Suits.

Frank Barbiere yet again gives us a gripping and explosive script, giving the perfect balance between action and interaction. I also enjoyed how he’d transition between the mercenaries/White Suits fight and the sequence leading up to this as it keep the story very lively whilst giving substantial development and context. The dialogue during the fight was also gripping as it gave a lot of depth and tone to the action. On top of this Barbiere also gave us a teaser of an ending which can be viewed in both a positive and a negative way depending on how you look at it.

Toby Cypress continues to astound me with his art on this series as though I was very sceptical to start off with given his style, it has proven to be more than perfect for this series. His rough, gritty pencils along with his unique layouts give a very edgy and impactful look to the story. He also gives a lot of excitement during the action with the visual explosiveness almost popping off the page. His colours also prove pivotal to the overall look and feel of this story with the dual toned black and red look being simply stupendous.

White Suits penultimate issue gives exciting and intriguing developments that have me hooked for the conclusion. Highly recommended.
