After some rather negative reports, the status of the possibly forthcoming Powers TV series based on the comic of the same name, seemed a bit up in the air or even dead in the water. But some news tidbits from highly placed sources have given fans a reason to hope that maybe, just maybe, this show might just get to see the light of day.
The producer and head writer for Powers, Charles ‘Chic’ Eglee, had this to say during an episode of ‘Nerdist Writer’s Panel’:
Based on the pilot the network ordered a handful of new scripts for new episodes and the writers should be handing them in soon. its slow and steady but we are still alive.
The comic book co-creator and series writer, Brian Michael Bendis, also posted this on his Tumblr page:
Unfortunately, the announcement of ‘Thief of Thieves’ this last week was interpreted by a lot of people that that somehow put ‘Powers’ in limbo, and that’s not the case at all. We’re actively moving forward with Powers.
So what do you guys think? Is the show going to make it onto TV? Or are we just seeing the slow death of what could have been another good comic show? Sound off with you thoughts and opinions in the comments below.
