The official description from Image:

“Left unsaid.”

Morning Glories 34_CAnother issue full of intrigue births conundrums, as our primary cast begins to deal with their current situation and the unexpected revelation of what happened to one of their own.  The creative team works within the confines of their narrative in order to not cheapen nor discredit what’s happened thus far. In the end the comic book feels like an epilogue and an interlude rolled up in one convenient but tightly nit package.

Nick Spencer pens the script and the series scribe does a marvelous job playing with the emotions of an already heightened situation.  It’s hard to deal with death and loss, as each of us try to find a way to say goodbye and move on.  I have to say, more than any previous outing this one captured my raw attention in a way that made the circumstances come off as both fluid and natural.   I related to the characters as they attempted to do something that right from the get go is a tall order.  And the talent handles it all in a way that leans on the work done thus far, which allows the author to achieve something few can.

The art by Joe Eisma fits the text as every single panel feels both relevant and important.  He captures the correct level of depth by employing clear and concise pencil strokes which build up the whole of the atmosphere found here.  It’s within the confines of these pages that the seasoned professional breathes life and style into an ongoing mystery that always feels like it’s on the verge of newly found discoveries.  And, as always, the final moments are intriguing as the illustrator captures the intent beautifully.

Morning Glories #34 is another example of how you take a diverse cast and build something with their apparently separate experiences.  It’s not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it’s nonetheless worthwhile.  Highly recommended.
