It’s Official… Worlds Will Collide in Spider-Men

Marvel’s line up is pretty bloated this year with its huge crossover event Avengers vs X-Men, but I’m actually a bit more excited for another team up they have in the works: Spider-Men. For the longest time, we couldn’t figure out who this Spidey mini series would feature. Would Bendis resurrect the Ultimate Universe’s Peter Parker so soon after his death last summer? Or would one of Peter’s less liked clones join forces with Miles Morales in a team up?

Well, it looks like Marvel’s finally revealed their hand, and the Spider-Men in this book are none other than the original Peter Parker himself from Universe 616 (as reported a few weeks ago) and the new kid on the block, Miles Morales. I have to admit, this comic sounds nothing short of incredible, especially since each character represents the best Spider-Man from their respective universe (don’t hate me Ultimate Parker fans!!!). Check out the amazing covers below…

Now, I seem to remember Joe Quesada scoffing at the concept of a 616 & Ultimate Universes crossover. As a matter of fact, here’s that little golden nugget of hypocrisy from our friends at CBR

Joe Quesada was asked if the Ultimate Universe and the Main Marvel Universe would ever cross over and he replied no. Quesada said he’d rather close down one universe than have them cross over because it meant they were officially out of ideas.

So does this mean the end of one of the Marvel-verses!?!?!? I don’t think so, but you tell me!
