Hack/Slash: Son Of Samhain #2

Cassie Hack has come back with a vengeance, with a brand new partner, with their new friendship as well as a touch of the past, what is going to happen with the new threat that is occurring? Read on to find out more.

After escaping Morinto’s cave, Cassie and Delroy take to the desert to track the mysterious boy the monsters were holding captive. Their search leads them to the Scalpers, a gnarly group that doesn’t take kindly to visitors. Meanwhile, Morinto confronts the mythical God Beast.

Okay, Cassie has a new partner, which I was like, “Oh no, you can’t HackSlashSonofSamhain_02-1replace Vlad” but I am really starting to like Delroy. It is very nice, even though I do miss Vlad. This issue continues where the last one left off, with these two characters heading to the dessert because there is a boy that they are wondering about. It was something that was nice to see because Cassie still has the mother instinct kicked in and really shines which adds the humanism to Cassie. It is quite nice. Then they get into some trouble with some new characters that are pretty scary. It is a nice change of pace for the characters.

The writing is strong but it seems to be going too fast and doesn’t bring a lot of the past up, which is what we need because there are some questions that need to answered, so that is problem but, overall, it is still pretty good. It is quick and to the point.

The panels move well with the writing, showing the flowing fell of the words, in an artistic expression. It is just fantastic.

Hack/Slash does a nice job of introducing new stuff but really needs to start answering some questions so we can move on.
