Did James Gunn Choose the Main Villain in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY?

The rumors have been flying like crazy about Marvel and Disney’s planned movie, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ as directed by James Gunn.  So far Ophelia Lovibond, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and Michael Rooker are all confirmed.  But that hasn’t stopped the rumor mills from running non-stop about who else might be signed.  Latino Review reported that both Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler were asked to be in the movie together. Plus Spinoff Online and Latino Review have both speculated that the villain may be Controller.  And now, we have a new rumor to add to the list.

Earlier today, The Wrap reported that Lee Pace was “in final negotiations to play the villain”.  Readers may remember Lee Pace from ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ where he played Elven King Thranduil, and is listed to reprise the role in this December’s ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug‘.  He also played the role of Garrett in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2.  To prepare for the new possible villain, let’s look at a few clips of Lee Pace in action!

With Lee Pace also starring in the new AMC computer programmer drama, ‘Halt & Catch Fire‘ by the creators of ‘Breaking Bad’, Lee Pace may soon be the name on a lot of geek lips if this trend continues.
